We teach people how to treat us through what we teach and what we tolerate. It's the boundaries we set and in the demonstration of how we treat ourselves. If we are kind, loving and respectful to ourselves we can expect that from others. When we are not kind, loving and respectful to ourselves we are teaching others how to treat us through our actions. What we allow is what will continue. How we treat ourselves is a reflection of how we feel about ourselves. When we don’t feel good, we can’t always expect good. Our self-worth is ours alone to cultivate, it’s an inside job. Loving ourselves whilst not always easy is always necessary. Without it giving it to ourselves we cannot really receive it from others. You can’t expect someone else to treat you better than you treat yourself.
