In this world of opportunity we have an infinite choice of dreams to dream, goals to set and achievements to accomplish. We can do anything we want to, if we really focus on it. Whilst the lense is wide, the focus we have is more limited, we cannot simply achieve everything to the same level at the same time. This is where we need to learn the practice of life prioritisation. We simply need to decide what is more important to us and focus on that as a priority. The challenge is what is important to us right now may not be important to us tomorrow, or next month or next year. We will never get to where we want to go if we do not prioritise what will be important to us eventually. My definition of discipline is prioritising what you ultimately want over what you want right now. Discipline is a life skill to cultivate through practice. Discipline makes life easier, it makes goals more achievable, it is an essential part of success. Next time you are unsure of what to do, or what to prioritise just think, what is it that I ultimately want? And put that above what you want right now. Every time you make that choice, your discipline skill is strengthened. You can do anything, but you can’t do everything.
