Habits Over Results

Generally the goals we have are about the lifestyles we want. Lifestyles are processes not outcomes. They are journeys not destinations. Keeping this in mind, for us to achieve these goals we need to build better habits rather than chasing better results. Habits are what drive consistent behaviours which in turn drive consistent results. Good habits take conscious effort to build, we need to think about them and actively take action. Bad habits are generally built unconsciously, they build up over time without us realising or paying attention. For us to succeed in anything we do, a fundamental step is good healthy habits. To build a habit takes practice and patience. It is often the prioritisation of what you ultimately want over what you want right now, which is my definition of discipline. Results come from habits, so that is where our focus should be. Habits over results.
