Guilt is a feeling of responsibility or remorse for some offence, some wrong-doing, dishonesty with self or others, or a mistake we have made. It can be real or imagined. Sometimes it can be a feeling of hurt and not understanding why? It is focused on our behaviour and our actions, it can be even be from our thoughts. We can hold it for days, weeks, months or even years. We like to ignore it, supress it and numb it (through unhealthy actions or substances) so we don’t have to feel it. It’s uncomfortable.
