Good Isn’t The Opposite Of Great

Throughout life we are often held against great expectations. To get the grades in school, the promotions in work and material achievement in life. This is so much so we can feel that when we do not exceed, we fail. When we don’t achieve greatness, we are somehow ‘less than’. The truth is we can be great, we can achieve great things but being good, or good enough isn’t the opposite of that. Being good isn’t failing, it isn’t the opposite of great. Somehow good or good enough has become something we look to avoid. The perfectionism driven from fear of not being good enough lessons the value of our own achievements to ourselves. Good enough and done, is better than perfect and pending. We can be good, it doesn’t mean we are not great. An achievement is an achievement, success is success. Good isn’t the opposite of great.
